Octavius Regional Civil Engineering grabs A38 Liskeard Project

September marks the commencement of Octavius Regional Civil Engineering’s (ORCE) A38 flood alleviation and drainage improvement scheme for National Highways in Cornwall.

The scheme is located northeast of Landrake, on the A38 on this the second longest road in the UK after the A1. The new project will address specific risks and safety concerns having been highlighted as a “Flood Hotspot”.

Ben Race Lead Commercial Manager at ORCE commented “We are delighted to be starting another important safety critical project for National Highways through the Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF). This is another great opportunity to play our part in delivering a more resilient and safer network for road users and follows our successfully completed project on the A30 at Sourton in Devon.”      The work scope includes screen replacements to verges, combined kerb drainage and associated specialist works to Notter Bridge, carrier drains, inspections chambers and cascade outfalls. In addition, there are supplementary pavement works, vehicle restraint system (VRS), road signage, traffic islands and maintenance access systems.
